RFID platformer
I made a 2D platformer where you scan physical tokens to switch abilities: dash, wall jump, gravity flip, and time stop.
The first version took 2–3 days. You can play it with a keyboard too.
About the gameABILITY SELECT01 / 04
Dash
Scan a token or use the keyboard to change abilities in the game.
THE CONTROLLER / 01—04
From token to game.
Here’s what happens when I scan a token.
01 / INPUT
Token
Each physical token stands for one of the game’s four abilities.
02 / SCAN
Reader
An MFRC522 RFID reader scans the token and passes it to the ESP32.
03 / TRANSMIT
Bluetooth key
The ESP32 acts as a Bluetooth keyboard and sends a number key.
04 / IN GAME
Unity
Unity receives that key and selects the ability.
